How it plays out on a deal
Engagement data helps a seller judge which bidders are serious before offers arrive. A party that spends hours in the financial model and asks detailed questions is behaving differently from one that opened the teaser and left.
It is a signal, not a verdict. Some buyers download everything and read offline; others work through a single adviser. Treat engagement scores as one input alongside conversations, and check how a vendor calculates them before relying on a ranking.
What to check in a review or demo
- 1How the engagement measure is calculated and whether the inputs are shown.
- 2Whether engagement can be compared across groups on one screen.
- 3Whether page level or time-on-document detail is available for key files.
