Venue by DFIN pricing: a scoped proposal for capital markets work
DFIN prices Venue project by project and offers no trial. The product targets listings and capital markets work, and many buyers meet it through an existing DFIN filing relationship.
Our pricing read
Venue has the lowest pricing clarity mark in our group because nothing is posted and nothing can be tried. Issuers who already use DFIN for filings may hold more leverage than they assume.

Demo and scoping call only
Venue is DFIN's transaction room, and its stated territory is capital markets: listings, debt issues and compliance-heavy processes. Many of its buyers already work with DFIN on financial reporting or regulatory filings, and that existing spend is a lever when the room is priced.
With no posted rate and no trial, a scoping call is the only way to a figure. Listing timetables are long and prone to slipping, which makes the duration and the post-term rate the most important clauses in any proposal.
Billing mechanics: what moves the Venue by DFIN figure
In short: no published rate. Venue by DFIN prices each project after a scoping conversation.
Every Venue figure on this page is our market estimate for quoted rooms, not a figure from DFIN. In capital markets work a room often stays open from early preparation through pricing and beyond. Ask how the proposal treats a postponed listing.

The sliders start on a typical listing preparation and offering: 12 months and 25 people. Because Venue by DFIN does not publish a rate, the result is the market band for the deal size you pick, never a Venue by DFIN figure.

No cell here comes from Venue by DFIN. Each is our band for a quoted room of that size (small deal at five people, mid-market at twenty-five, large deal at a hundred) times the months open. Treat the grid as a sanity check on a proposal rather than a forecast.

Priced against Intralinks, Datasite and iDeals
We matched Venue by DFIN with the three providers nearest to it on deal focus and overall score, then priced two identical rooms for every row: half a year for five people, and a full year for twenty-five.
| Provider | Score | Pricing clarity | Entry price | 6 mo, 5 people | 12 mo, 25 people | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7.2/10 | 6.5 | Quote on request | Quote | Quote | 6/12 | |
| 8.6/10 | 7.8 | Quote on request | Quote | Quote | 8/12 | |
| 8.9/10 | 8.3 | Quote on request | Quote | Quote | 10/12 | |
| 9.1/10 | 8.8 | Quote on request | Quote | Quote | 9/12 |
Intralinks, Datasite and iDeals keep their rates private as well, which leaves nothing posted to anchor on. Brief all four identically and lay the monthly figure, post-term figure and overage clause of each proposal next to each other.
No trial: how to judge it before paying
Without a trial, ask for a demo built around a listing timetable: a preparation stage with a small internal group, a wider stage with underwriters and counsel, and the audit reporting the issuer will need afterwards.
Contract questions we would raise with Venue by DFIN
We mark Venue by DFIN 6.5 for pricing clarity, behind the 7.8 mean across all 18 providers. Whatever the mark, an order form leaves gaps; these are the points we would want answered in writing before the first invitation is sent.
- How is the room priced if the listing is postponed?
- Can the room be bundled with other DFIN services, and does that change the figure?
- Which units drive the proposal, and what is the overage rule?
- Is two-factor login available, and is it included?
- Could the proposal be restated as a per-month number, with the post-term figure and the overage clause printed beside it?
Buyer questions on Venue by DFIN pricing
What will a Venue by DFIN room cost?
Venue by DFIN keeps its rates private. For a listing preparation and offering lasting 12 months, our band for a quoted room runs $48,000 to $144,000. The band is our estimate; the binding number arrives in the proposal.
Is there a Venue trial?
There is not. Venue is evaluated through a demo and a scoping conversation with DFIN.
Can Venue be bundled with other DFIN services?
Ask DFIN directly. Buyers who already use DFIN for filings should bring that relationship into the price conversation.
How does Venue by DFIN pricing compare with Intralinks?
Neither posts a rate. Send both the identical brief (duration, head count, data volume) and set the proposals side by side.
