Uptime SLA

The short version

A service level agreement in which the provider commits to keeping the platform available for a stated share of time, such as 99.9 percent, usually with service credits if it falls short.

How it plays out on a deal

An outage on a bid date is a real problem, which is why availability commitments matter more for transaction rooms than for ordinary file sharing. The headline percentage is only part of it: how maintenance windows are excluded and what remedy applies can change the picture a lot.

Small credits on the monthly fee rarely compensate a deal team for a missed deadline. A public status page with incident history and a clear support escalation path for deal days are often more useful in practice than the SLA figure itself.

What to check in a review or demo

  1. 1The committed percentage, how it is measured and what is excluded.
  2. 2Whether there is a public status page with past incidents.
  3. 3Whether support is reachable around the clock during bid deadlines.
